my blood test
Hello, I think it would be a good idea if you could test your T3. This is the active hormone that your T4 changes into. Your TSH reading is reducing but it is still out of range and too high, I think your body might not be converting or changing the T4 into T3 well. I used to have this problem. If that is your problem you need to add some T3, Liothyronine to your daily Levothyroxine dose. You could discuss this with the person providing your Levothyroxine.
Also you should be taking supplements to help. Selenium is important & also vitamin Bs & C. Magnesium & Vitamin D can help too but they need to be taken 4 hours away from your thyroid hormone tablets.
I hope this helps. Post more questions if you need more help.
I think you need to leave it longer before your next blood test. It takes a while for the T4 to settle in your blood (sorry, don’t know the technical terms).
Make sure you have the blood test around 9am, having just water that morning and not levo till afterwards.
Ask for vitD, folate, B12 and ferritin to be checked before you start supplementing. And have you had antibody levels checked too?
