Strange symptoms Tinnitus?

Hi, i now have bad Tinnitus all of a sudden and my heart rate has got slow (not faster as the consultant warned). Would this be a side effect if Levothyroxine? Not taken much yet but have a bit more energy and my neck swelling seems to have gone down a bit. Still hopen it will all go away when i get to 50mcg. On 25 as a starter. I am getting anxious about work etc.. Sorry always moaning on here but appreciate all the advice. Cant wait to feel human again and walk my dog. :)

I used to get tinnitus until I sorted out my oestrogen levels... some say low B12 or is it Vit D but your vits and mins (no Vit D result) were in a good place last month apart from your ferritin which is scraping the bottom

tbh you will likely feel all kinds of weird on and off for the next couple of months as things adjust 🙃

Thanks. Just emailed the consultant - in case i should step up the meds sooner. Work are chasing me now but i still have breathing issues.

Have you add more iron to your diet and Vit C? I can't remember if you are vegan?

Wouldn't hurt to try 50mcg over the weekend and see how you feel, which brand are you on?

I am not a vegan. But dont eat very well tbh, have a lot of processed food. Im on Teva as on a 25 dose - just been reading about mannitol side effects. My 50 meds are accord. But supposed to do 25 for 2 weeks. On day 5.

Perhaps break some Accord in half?

Have you had a full iron panel? Chicken liver pate is one of the best if you can stomach it along with red meat, otherwise it's lots of greens which I struggle with, I've found the heme iron works well without stomach upset and recently I've been mixing it with Iron Bisglycinate Ferrochel but I haven't retested since

Try Accord

Cut in half to take 25mcg

Have you started daily vitamin B complex yet

No. TBH i wanted to wait until i had my levels checked and saw the consultant again in 2 months. I was worried if i start taking stuff it might effect my blood tests. But if you think i should i will get some.

Low folate

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will improve folate level

Difference between folate and folic acid

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus B complex popular option. Nice small tablets.

initially I suggest you cut into 1/4’s and just add 1/4 tablet per day after breakfast

After about a week increase to 1/2 tablet and then slowly increase to 1 tablet per day

Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose.

Thorne Basic B another popular vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)

Thorne currently difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg)

Ferritin

Have you had full iron panel test yet for anaemia

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

it’s unlikely levo will just be a magic bullet and suddenly you’ll feel better, though I wish that for you. Most of us have had to do look at our diet, different vitamin levels and for me things like exercise and stuff to help calm my nervous system (this is an auto immune disease after all)
