Hi, had a private Endo appt today. Given a diagnosis of Hashimotos and a perscription for levothyroxine starting on 25 for 2 weeks and then 50. Then more bloods and an appointment in 2 months to check levels. Also had a head MRI appt through. Keeping all my other appt just in case and not telling the NHS at the moment until i kmow its working. Fingers crossed. So ppease to have some treatment. He said it was kicking off my heart Brachacardia (which i already had) and was making my oxygen drop. All makes sense - but NHS would never have got there. They offered me a blood test in a years time due to my non fasting test at A and E. Best £250 i have spent. Shouldnt be this hard though!!
So pleased - have Hashimotos: Hi, had a private... - Thyroid UK
So pleased - have Hashimotos
Brilliant news

👏👏👏 welcome to the new roller coaster ride 🤗
A better informed endo....this is great news and a good start
Not many associate low oxygen saturation with hypo.... more specifically low T3! Thyroid hormones promote oxygen delivery to the tissues
A gluten free diet helps Hashi patients.
Be patient it may take some time to resolve and be aware that with Hashi's, thyroid levels can fluctuate/rise as the thyroid is attacked.. this is transient and gradually leads to the death of the thyroid's hormone-producing cells. Hence hypothyroidism.
Please keep us posted
Take care.

Just looked at your labs posted 26 days ago...
Your FT3 is miserably low and could absolutely cause a number of symptoms including Brachacardia!
They fail "to join up the dots"
Wonderful news JCMartin! 🦋👍
That's great JCMartin,
It's always a strange feeling of relief to be told there is something not right when you've been continually dismissed.
For sure and i could see this having a huge effect on peoples mental health. I was depressed, anxious and starting to question my own sanity. If i hadnt had this recognition (even if its a long path) i think i could have lost the plot. I was already crying in toilets. This group really helped as they understand. I am quite usually brave with pain and medical problems but its the fear of the unknown. Not getting better and having no timeline when you will get answers. If i hadnt had a random out of range TSH in hospital i would have never explored this route and the NHS clearly would not have. This group also made me decide to pay for the right consultant.
