welcome to the forum
First step is to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
Ensure vitamin levels are all at GOOD levels for good conversion of Ft4 (levothyroxine) to Ft3
Get levothyroxine dose fine tuned
Assuming you then still have symptoms and low Ft3 see specialist thyroid endocrinologist
see you had full thyroidectomy?
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested
were both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once before thyroidectomy
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing

Hi,
Thanks for all info. Amazing.
I have already checked everything you mentioned and because I come from thyroid cancer, they do me all the thyroid profile bloods.
I am noticing that increasing levo does yes lower my TSH but increased T4 too maybe too much whereas the T3 is still low.
I also come from a strong anemia so the conversion is inhibited and I need to wait every goes back in range before considering a T3 intake.
I just need to know if the endocrinologist refuses to give me T3 (once it pans out that I do need it) where I can supply.
Thanks
Fedeg
Many, many members have to see different endo
Most endocrinologists are diabetes specialists
You will need a pro T3 endocrinologist
Increasing numbers are prescribed now on NHS as price has fallen substantially…..now £40 per 28 tablets (was £268 when only one exploitative supplier)
Many people have to initially get prescribed privately
Private prescription enables access to Thybon Henning 20mcg - £60-£80 per 100 tablets
Typical daily dose is 5mcg three times daily
Yes, thanks for stressing the fact that most endocrinologists are specialised in diabetes. I was thinking of it especially after my endo although seeing a t3 low off range and a TSH quite high and very close to the higher hand, and me alerting him that was not right at all, he did nothing.
Result: I had an hemorragic period after 2 months (me having adenomyosis a TSH going high is not something I can afford!!!). And I spare you all the mess it created in my body and I ended up even with DVTs and PE.
I want to change my endo and I spoke to his secretary. No chance ???? They are still saying he is in charge of me.
And this is from UCLH.
How can I change the endo??? My GP is likely to help me, luckily.
Your patient to patient tip, the bit about not taking the medication for 24 hours before testing actually comes from the medical profession (well those who are more knowledgeable). It was during one of the late great Dr.Skinner's 'trials' when one of the expert witnesses were asked about testing and he said that if T4 was taken less than 12-24 hours there could be up to 15% difference in the TSH. He was only talking about T4 but possibly T3 could be worse. I had saved the whole quote and dates etc. on my computer, which broke last year and I had to get a new one and not able to get the direct quote back.
Fedeg, You may receive private messages telling you where you can buy T3 online without a prescription.
Please be very wary of parting with your money as there are people waiting to scam you by taking your money but not supplying the medication you think you have paid for.
Be especially wary of websites that show no information about who and where the vendors are.
