The battle for blue sky thinking in thyroid research must continue because right now the thought process in this paper appears to remain in, rather than "out of the box".
There is no problem with repeat posting - especially links like that.
Those who saw it originally can ignore the repeat. Those who didn't now have the opportunity.
It would only be excessive posting that might transgress decent behaviour.
I agree that whilst it at least doesn't say "No possible use", it doesn't do a good job of explaining when. And it hits the wall that always appears:
and in whom other comorbidities have been excluded
Let's be sensible, a full set of diagnostic procedures - which might include MRI, CT, Short Synacthen test, multiple blood tests including some truly obscure ones, and repeats, etc., is beyond what anyone gets. And the cost is far greater than prescribing liothyronine.
(Just looked up a private MRI to get some idea. The advertising says "from £199", the actuality seems to start at £579. And a full body including brain will be much more.)
