Rarely do we see petitions which are quite so easy to support.

Lovely people please could you sign this petition and share widely. Thyroid disease does not get sufficient funding despite being very common, this may help address this -Thx
Petition: Give more funding for thyroid research and patients after price hike
Indeed, that is why I mentioned it in case one of you was hoping to keep it all in one place. Perhaps you should mention it to Lynn in case she thinks she is getting a poor response 😁
Just caught up on my emails! If you read the government privacy policy linked to the petition, section 3, how data is used, it states your postcode is used to count how many people sign from different areas. Since we live in a postcode lottery as far as NHS resources are concerned it would help us all if we could get signatures from as many areas as possible. Just a thought. It might encourage others
And the first response is in and includes this sentence: "The Government funds research on health and social care through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). NIHR funds and supports research into hyperthyroidism through its research infrastructure and research programmes. This includes research on the broad range of conditions that may affect the function of the thyroid gland, including hypo- and hyper-thyroidism, thyroid cancer and thyroid removal following surgery." When you go to the NIHR website to see what funding opportunities there are currently for metabolic and endocrine research, there are NONE.
It 100% smacks of them having simply fulfilled their obligation to respond. Accuracy doesn't come into it. They've written a page of garbage, but no matter. 😡
