I have been going to the docters for 6 months with neck pain/swelling and it has been ignored. I have:
Constipation
Palpitations
Swollen Neck and Face
Shortbess of Breath
Internal Tremors Fatigue
I have just had TSH 4.25, went to the docters yet again and they are still not concerned. They say its only slightly high. Out of despiration i have ordered T3 and T4 blood tests. But i know 100% i have large Goitre. He says he will have a look when they come back. I feel like i have been almost gas lighted by the NHS. My oxygen is dropping to under 80 throughout the day.

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested
Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s
Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.
Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.
Low vitamin levels are extremely common when hypothyroid, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis
In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
On T3 - day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day with last dose 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

You have an oximeter that is showing your oxygen saturation is 80? I don't want to sound patronizing but they know that, yes?. What do they say? Below 90 is a big deal.
Besides the goitre is there any underlying condition causing such low saturation?

I had a full thyroidectomy due to size and position of two of my five or six modules. The buggers at hand caused both breathing issues and choking.
Try this -
Raise your arms above your head. Lower your chin to your chest. Talk.
If your goitre is causing breathing and choking issues you will know instantly - talking will be near impossible and will probably sound like the devil. And breathing will also be an award-winning feat.
TSH is too high. It should be under 2.5 or you’ll get symptoms and preferably around 1.00. They probably think your level is ok because it’s within the NHS range. But it’s not ok. If you are getting no joy from an endocrinologist or your gp id ask to be referred to ENT ( ear, nose and throat) dept. My sister did this after months even years being fobbed off by her GP and Endo. After seeing ENT her thyroid was removed within 2 weeks as she had a fine needle aspiration which revealed thyroid cancer. I’m not saying you’ll have to same outcome but they did act where others didn’t. It’s worth a try???
That’s excellent. I do hope they’ll be able to diagnose and help you, like they did with my sister. If they do find the problem they could refer you to Endo also. Keep positive thoughts.
Take screen shots of the low oxygen levels. This is serious. Go to A+E, lie down, gasp for air. Do a full Oscar winning performance. It seems this is what it takes nowadays to get any help. But your oxygen levels are critical, and will be affecting your brain, liver, most organs, and some of this damage is difficult to heal.
I hope you get is sorted, but I really mean it - it is serious!
Sorry, i have been a little all over the place and i wasnt used to the site. I have some appointments in January. I have been frightened i wouldnt last that long. I cant believe the NHS are in this state and the docters dont seem to care. I am going to change to another surgery when this is resolved - but i cant face it at the moment.
