My ERFA delayed in post, not sure what to do.

Hi

I am currently taking one grain of ERFA split dose, and 100 mcg of thyroxine daily. I used my last ERFA today, and my new tablets seem to have been delayed in the post and haven’t arrived.. I’m not sure what to do tomorrow and until they arrive. Should I increase my thyroxine dose? I have some 25 mcg tablets, I’m wondering whether to add one of those to my 100 mcg tablet each day. Thanks.

hello Spangle15. I am not as knowledgeable as many on this site but this happened to me. I am on 30mcg ERFA and 50mcg Levo. I had no ERFA left so just increased my Levo dose by 50mcg. It didn’t harm me and I felt fine but a little more fatigued. So if it was me I would take two of the 25mcg tablets each day as well as my normal dose to see how I felt. If the delay continues then up the dose by another 25mcg in a couple of days. Presumably it won’t take long for your correct dose to arrive.

Have you contacted your supplier to ask when your delivery can be expected? I would do this urgently. They may be prepared to send you a small number of tablets by express delivery in the interim.
