TPO AB 500

Hi!

I was treating my thyroid for years, and in 2020, my endocrinologist assured me that everything was fine. However, she advised me to start planning for a baby before turning 30. Now, at 28 years old, while trying to conceive, I visited an OB-GYN where I did hormone tests. The results revealed a very low anti-Mullerian hormone level of 1.18. She recommended to start planning a baby. Since June 2023, I've been taking prenatal vitamins. In June, I consulted my endocrinologist, who assured me that everything was fine. However, today I discovered that my TPO AB is almost 500, and TSH is high. Despite trying to conceive for almost 6 months, this information is concerning. I've been researching Hashimoto's disease and feel anxious about it.

Hi Melonsk

With high antibodies it does look to require further investigation.

You say you were treating your thyroid for years, in past tense - would you be able to elaborate a bit? Your history is an essential part of the story. Do you have any other problems? Are you symptomatic? If so what are you experiencing? Blood tests on their own are not the story.😉

You could always populate your bio on your profile. Forum members will often look at it before commenting. It’s easier to find as well if you want to refer back to it in the future. If you click on my face you can see an example. I’ve written mine as a bit of a case study.

Do you have your recent (and previous tests if available ) that you could share with us? We need ranges (in brackets) and please make sure you anonymise.

With so little information to go on it would be impossible to advise.

Just to let you know we are not medically trained - we have lived experience and resorted to self advocacy.

We have gravitated here because of difficulty getting the right treatment and have ended up getting genned up so we can advocate for ourselves. 😊👍

Yes, I have been experiencing some symptoms such as anxiety, tiredness, low energy and gain weight. My doctor said that they will review my blood test results and get back to me. My resent test was TPO AB above 500.
