I am new here. I am a super complex patient with couple of cardiac conditions incl. POTS dysautonomia and when i was living abroad was given T3 in small doses that helped me a bit as they said i had an underactive thyroid and a genetic tyoe of anaemia. I am in the Uk now an ddo not have an endocrinologist, i assume I need one to get both T4 and T3. Is it difficult to get this in England? Am in Devon SW. Do the pharmacies have it? Abroad it wasn't an issue.I am seeing posts about costs etc, is T3 and T4 by a privately script very expensive here?Thank you in advance

Uk doctors specialise in one thing so you would likely need 2 consultants, one for each speciality.
Its easier to get T3 prescribed privately. It can be quite an uphill battle on the NHS.
T4 is pretty cheap, T3 around 60-70p per 20mcg tablet which is the cheapest way to get it prescribed and then cut pills to dose size. Thybon-Henning is the cheapest brand.
Do start a new post to further discuss obtaining T3 by prescription in the UK or your latest blood and vitamin results.

You are advised to get full thyroid profile bloods done to include TSH, FT4 & FT3 + vitamins ferritin, folate, B12 & D3 and antibodies before your appointment to avoid wasting your first visit.
You can also email info@thyroiduk.org for a list of T3 friendly Endo's.
