I read this this morning and my first thought was, 'I wonder if he's just under medicated'...
Then wondered if there's a link between UAT and apraxia?
Anyone else get frustrated that all the famous people with UAT seem to just get on marvellously? We could really do with one of them to use their platform for the rest of us.
I actually sent him a message last year warning him about under medication through over reliance of the TSH method and advised him to not just take their word for it. Told him about Thyroid UK. I got a reply - an acknowledgment, but I don’t think he or whoever was replying on his behalf had been sufficiently let down my the medical profession to take heed of my warning.
It's a really hard line to walk, isn't it?
Because we all know there are so many of us that are undermedicated and misdiagnosed and poorly treated BUT I expect that the very great majority of us would've written off any unsolicited advice as crackpot because obviously the medics know better than strangers on the internet...
We can but try.

I found the article he wrote in the guardian really interesting, especially as I found levo at any dose caused me a lot of speech issues (extremely slowed speech, unusual speech patterns, trouble finding right words & phrases, stuttering) without levo this starts to clear up pretty fast… nearly gone in a matter of weeks.
Made me wonder if he had similar issues w levo as I think his apraxia came after the hypo diagnosis?
My speech issues were so bad I didn’t want to talk to people as they would often try to help me with my words and finish my sentences to hurry me along… I know they meant well but it just made me feel rubbish!
When I was undiagnosed I started slurring my words and it would often take me minutes to finish a sentence because of all the pauses I'd need to take to think of the word I needed.
Its a horrible place to be not being able to communicate properly. Are you T3 only now?
But yes, his ataxia has come after the hypo diagnosis which makes me think it's not ataxia at all but poorly managed hypothyroidism.
Yes same for me pre diagnosis, apart from mine would weirdly come and go and I’d often just feel like my tongue was too big for my mouth and make me fluff my words! You’re right it feels incredibly isolating and frustrating.
Yes endo recommended I try T3 only now but very early on in that journey at the moment! 
I actually just watched the video in the link and it made me feel so so sad for him. I defo think you are right, so many horrid symptoms can come from poor management of thyroid conditions. 
Kamara has been diagnosed with apraxia of speech according to the sportbible link, not ataxia. Ataxia is a condition which causes balance problems and staggering, but can affect speech too. I wonder what the chances are that his condition could be ataxia and he has been misdiagnosed.

I didn't know that Kamara had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism as well as the apraxia of speech, but I could well believe that that is the source of all his problems if it is wrongly treated or under-treated as it so often is, and perhaps his Free T3 is lower than optimal for him.

The problem is that if they’re still working and in the public eye then they’re not likely under treated, they’re feeling good. What you’re looking for is a celebrity that goes hypo, doesn’t respond to T4 only and then stops working and makes it public that they’ve stopped working because they still feel dreadful, and ‘the docs can’t help’. And that knows enough about hypo that they point out and make public their symptoms and struggles.
However we know that being under medicated makes you feel sh*t so they’re more likely to go to a private doc and get T3 and continue working, now feeling fine. And not realise the the rest of us don’t have that opportunity.
