Is it important to consume complex carbohydrates daily to help aid conversion of T3? I know proteins and healthy fats are important too but I don’t always consume a lot of carbohydrates or maybe not enough?
I take thyroxine only and have recently posted about below range T3 but normal T4 and TSH (for me),
The emotional and physical stress I have been under can cause poor conversion I have read on this forum, but my diet could be better also maybe?
Thank you for you help.

I imagine for general good health which will include your thyroid it is important to eat some carbs but like everything else there are good and bad versions. I tend to eat veg that grow above ground as shown here dietdoctor.com/low-carb/veg... I know from using my blood sugar monitor they don’t spike my blood sugar whereas the veg from below the ground do.
When 1st diagnosed, my whole system was practically at zero. Advise on here got me onto a balanced diet and back on an even keel. My problem was I simply had got so low I had no desire for food, could not be bothered to cook etc . I did as advised on this site and slowly I started to get back to normal levels and with that mentally I improved as well. They used to say a little of what you like does one good, You sound as if you have been using up your fuel supply and not refurbishing it. Takes time to get back on an even keel so slowly does it and your body will respond to the extra attention.
It could be inflammation, high cortisol levels, nutrient deficiencies .Maybe something to do with the deiodinases and conversion of T4 to T3 . My endocrinologist recommended selenium for conversion of T4 to T3 and she said a person could be low in iodine. I take a kelp supplements. Diet and gut health are important for our thyroid and health. I'm doing no sugar , working on more protein, trying to quit gluten. Eat complex carbs and include probiotics. I like fermented sourkraut. I'm convinced that a lot of my problems are from my gut health and bad diet. Plus genetics are a part of it. I'm also trying to get in more exercise. I don't feel like doing it but I feel less stressed and more energized after . Just be careful not to stress yourself too hard with your workout. Start slow and build up. Hope you get to feeling better.
Also wanted to say that there are studies showing low T3 syndrome in people with chronic fatigue. I've been reading articles about having autoimmune conditions can also cause low T3. When we have autoimmune health conditions it is stressing our bodies. I personally think that for me having several autoimmune conditions is contributing to my low T3 levels.
