Help with Results please

Hi there

I have just done a thyroid test through Monitor my health.

It was done in the morning around 8am before Medication and Food.

I increased just 25mg to 100 x 3/ 75 x 4 for the last six weeks

These are the latest results.

TSH: 0.42 mU/l (Range 0.27 - 4.2) 3.82%

FT4: 15.9 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22) 39.00%

FT3: 4.3 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8) 32.43%

Previous results on 100 x 2 / 75 x 5 (I had been on this dose for 9 weeks)

TSH: 1.31 mU/l (Range 0.27 - 4.2) 26.46%

FT4: 17.4 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22) 54.00%

FT3: 4.1 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8) 27.03%

This test also Monitor My Health done in the morning .

Also GP's TSH test done around similar time with similar TSH

So with my recent results my TSH is low but not suppressed. Surprising that just one extra 25mg tablet a week dropped the tsh by nearly 1.

T4 has dropped which I don't understand with a rise in medication and the T3 has only risen a tiny amount. I think my T3 results are low.

With the percentages of the results what would your advice be?

Would adding T3 help?

I can't really take more T4 or I will probably be suppressed.

Many thanks....

Regardless of TSH your results suggest you need increase in dose

When did you last test vitamins

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

These tests were done in June at GP's

I am also taking Vit D spray 3000

Magnesium, Selennium and Zinc with Copper nightly

Serum folate level (42U5.) 14.4 ng/ml [> 2.9]

Calcium adjusted level (XaZyY) 2.22 mmol/l [2.05 - 2.55]

Serum ferritin level (XE24r) 41 ng/ml [13 - 150]

Serum vitamin B12 level (XE2pf) 494 ng/L [> 178]

Serum alkaline phosphatase level (XE2px) 77 iu/L [30 - 130]

Serum alkaline phosphatase level (XE2px) 77 iu/L [30 - 130]

Serum sodium level (XE2q0) 139 mmol/L [133 - 146]

I have been taking Vit B12 Zip vit 1100mcg since these results.

I am also trying to eat a bit more lean meat to increase my ferritin.

I find it strange that when I was taking 25mg less of thyroxine in a week my T4 was 17.4.

So somehow my T4 seems to be reduced by taking more medication. Can that be possible?

Yes….because lower TSH means your own thyroid is working less
