Medichecks advanced thyroid rest

Hi all,

The instructions for my medichecks test says to stop B12 for two whole weeks before testing! Do others follow this advice? I know from this forum that I have to stop any biotin containing supplements for 7 days before any blood test.

You would have to be off B12 4 months to get a base reading

Just stop B12 day before test

Stop vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, 5-7 days before test

SlowDragon advice is correct. I’m having B12 tested on Friday and stopped supplementing 4 months ago to get a base reading.

The reason for this is that my B12 levels went to 2x normal range when supplementing for 6 months at 100 mg a day. GP wants to look at baseline to get an idea of “what’s happening”.
