Research on effect of red light

Not directly thyroid related but it sheds some light on how we might improve our metabolism at the cellular level, which our thyroids should be partaking in.

The text is from my Facebook post, so the tone is for a different audience!

I highly recommend watching this video. I trust this doctor a great deal: his videos are very well presented from current scientific research. They are quite approachable and well worth concentrating on!

This video is about the health benefits of red light (as found in sunlight) on our cells ability to create energy, reducing blood sugar levels in this case.

Gloss over the mitochondria bits if you like (I don't understand much either!), the takeaway's in the video are the important bit.

His other video "Light as Medicine" is also very good and well worth watching.

My takeaways are

1. Get out in the sun every day. We evolved over millennia to be in the sun: our bodies need the sun to function properly.

2. Our modern lives severely limit our exposure to these frequencies of light. Working indoors, using computers and devices all day, "low-e" glass that by design blocks these helpful frequencies and LED light bulbs (which don't emit these invisible frequencies, again by design to save electricity).

Fascinating and essential viewing. Who knows what else will be discovered.

Decant,

Thanks for sharing.

Red light therapy is also brilliant. There’s hundreds of research papers in this area.

Light itself absolutely controls our circadian rhythm and in turn our hormone production. Light at the right time and the right kind of light absolutely.
