I have had no more luck with seeing the drs since I posted my last results. I’m going on holiday soon so will ask to be retested again when I come back. Just wanted a little advice as to vitamins. I take no supplements at the moment and dud but some but then I read I shouldn’t be taking them I think they were vitamin d ones. I’d like to try but could you advise which are tge best ones to take that contain different vitamins. Thanks in advance

You should only take vit D if you need it. Have you had nutrient levels tested? Vit D, vit B12, folate, ferritin.

could you advise which are tge best ones to take that contain different vitamins.

You mean a multi-vitamin? Those are not recommended on here for many reasons. Far better to get the nutrients mentioned above tested and supplement according to need - we can help you with that. If you don't need something, taking it won't help you, and could harm you - more is never better. :)

They wouldn’t do Vit D but last November it was 59.0nmol/L

Grab yourself a good B complex like Thorne basic B as your B12 and folate are low... and have a lovely holiday 🤗

start taking a daily vitamin D too

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

leedsformulary.nhs.uk/docs/...

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

But with Hashimoto’s, improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Test twice yearly via NHS private testing service when supplementing

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function.

There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7.

One spray = 1000iu

It’s trial and error what dose we need, with thyroid issues we frequently need higher dose than average

Try 2 sprays per day ……retest in 2-3 months
