Hi there, I haven't posted recently as regularly as I used to but I seem to be struggling again.
Have just come put of an Endocrinology appointment in Aintree hospital and feel heard for the first time.... (some seasoned listeners will remember that the first Endocrinologist I saw put everything down to depression... diagnosed simply by the look on my face..) resting b*Tch face right there 😀
Anyway I was talking trough my symptoms (and admitted that I had been on a self medication journey) and the Endo said that my results wouldn't have been affected by the addition of T3 and it didn't look like I was absorbing any of it (T3 or T4).
She has said she would like to check my prutuitary gland and has booked me in for an MRI scan and taken a humongous amount of blood for testing.
She seemed quite frustrated that I had never had this checked before and when I mentioned that I also suffer from menderes disease and migraines looked as though something clicked.... Although in hindsight I could be imagining that....🤪
Anyway may not be newsworthy but at least there are some thorough checks ahead
So I'm off to do some research with regards to prutuitary problems but wondered if anyone else had similar issues?

Thanks SD. Yep I made a huge error with that blood test.
I've had two since whereby I had followed the protocols and have since split my T3 and added 50 of T4 (not 24 hours before blood test) which she had the results of. I haven't had the print outs of those results yet as I will pick them up from G.P on Monday.

I think you mean PITUITARY. Did she say why she wants to check that? Is it based on your results before diatnosis? Because a pituitary problem wouldn't necessarily show up when taking 50 mcg T3. The TSH would quite naturally be suppressed.
Sorry trying for the typo, using phone in blinding sun lol. No she said that my levels have never been right and she thought the pituitary (I can't spell or say it) may not be converting (I think) or that I may not be absorbing. She asked if I was on iron tablets as that may stop conversion (I'm not) or taking any steroids. I'm thinking now she may not be so clued up but I was so happy that someone didn't put all my symptoms down to my age and being overweight.
Yeah not even sure her name it was someone at Dr Christina Daousi's clinic but obviously wasn't her as the lady who was drawing my bloods referred to her as "Becca:
