Is there still a shortage of T3?

sorry, haven’t been around the forum for a few months.

I had read previously that there were issues getting some brands of T3… is this still the case?

I just called my pharmacy as I’m waiting on a script, only to be told they can’t get it and the supplier are only sending Teva, which I won’t take.

Are there any updates?

There have been a variety of shortages of all kinds of medicines and often things can change rapidly. Have you phoned around other local pharmacies to see if they have the brand that you prefer? Independent pharmacies are often the best bet to try as they aren't tied to one source for their stock.

Well funnily enough, I moved to a boots because I found the opposite was true!

However, no, I only called them earlier and she said she’d let me know tomorrow, so I’ll give them a chance to see how they get on.

Thanks though, worrying times!

Supplies can be very patchy at times. People in area 1 might be able to get a medicine whereas those in area 2 might not. This was happening with various brands of liquid Levo and still is even.

If your pharmacy can't get it then get on the phone and start calling round chemists in the area.

I get Morningside 20mcg every 2 months…..normally no problem

so far my excellent independent pharmacy has NOT managed to get any Morningside 20mcg for about 3 weeks (fortunately I have plenty in reserve) …..

pharmacist offered me Mercury Pharma…..I declined……so she’s trying again

Ooh, I’ll swap you and take your morningside!

Yes normally I keep some in reserve, but my gp has tightened up a bit and seems to delay a repeat request if I put it in too soon recently.

Couple that with this being my second request this time as the first wasn’t fulfilled - I now know why - and I’m almost out.

Hopefully resolved tomorrow , fingers crossed
