Anti-inflammatory supplementation

Just a few days ago read post on turmeric as anti-inflammatory. I do use turmeric w/black peperine. Today, while researching for reasons behind insomnia that I cannot correlate to thyroid meds, exercise, diet, etc., I came across this article on PEA supplements. Some studies published on pubmed, but found this particular article rather elucidating: nutraingredients-usa.com/Ne... The company, itself, did not provide the article, rather a company called Gencor that supplies botanicals to the trade.

Anyone here familiar w/this and/or have used it?

If you do use Turmeric for its anti inflammatory effects, be aware that it behaves exactly like an NSAID and thins blood. It’s very important that it’s stopped a week before surgery. I was unaware of this and suffered a massive post op bleed

Ideally look for curcumin extract with black pepper or perine and added vit c and or vit d. The additives help the body to process the curcumin .

Good link. Never personally used either CBD or PEA but our dog found the former very helpful for many years for arthritis. But I do feel you should see a qualified Nutritional Therapist rather than experiment.

I have been using it for years but only in soups mainly. As I only eat soup twice a week the only comment is that it taste horrible on it's own but in soup it's great.

If you don't mind, for what health benefit do you use the PEA? Clinical data (ncbi.nih website) shows it is effective for such a range of health issues/prevention of. Since you've been using for years, I would figure you find it beneficial. W/vitamins/supplements, I reason taking something a few times a week is better than not taking it at all.

It was a friend of mine who put me onto it back around the 1990's also Glucosamine sulphate phytodroitin. I mentioned one of my fingers was inflamed and painful she has taught Tao Kando for years and uses various things to help keep supple.

I only use the Turmeric in soups as I dislike the taste. The Glucosamine I know works because after an operation I ran out and after only a few days my fingers started to ache again. Both of these I can say have helped me ward off problems for over 25 years now.

I take one every day but Turmeric only in Soups. The only time I have any aches or pain at all is when my FT3 is too low. That is something different though.
