‘Nu’ any experience with this company?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying my best to do due diligence with my supplement research but it is a minefield!(!)

I have used this brand for activated charcoal tablets and seemed ok. Wondering if the company is trustworthy or the deal is too good to be true as they often give years supply at discounted rates.

Not sure how to check reviews for new companies- does anyone know if they are reliable?

This is the turmeric I wanted- they also sell on amazon

I’ve bought K2 and B12 from them and, as you say, they are very good value. However, the Jarrows MK-7 (K2) seems a completely different composition to the Nu one (a purple oil based capsule rather than a little white pill) so, to be on the safe side, I now pay the extra for the Jarrows one. I’d be really interested to hear from anyone who knows a bit more.

This is because the Jarrows is oil based - always a good thing for fat soluble vitamins - and just contains the essential ingredients, K2-MK7 and the oil. Actually, I wouldn't use that one as it contains soybean oil.

The NuU is a tablet with the usual excipients/fillers that we could do without.

Thanks SeasideSusie - is there an MK-7 brand you’d recommend please? Thank you.

Healthy Options is the one I use.

I use BigVits as they are generally cheaper.

The 60 size is cheaper than Jarrows 60 size, but the 180 is best value

Thanks for the link- if seaside susie recommends a vitamin you don’t ask Qs 😂👍🏻 Click and buy. Cheers!

(I’ve been using the better you brand of vitD3/k2mk7) in a spray form- is that better than the tablets? I’m only taking 3000iu vit D3 )

No problem at all with the BetterYou spray and recommended as first choice if you have Hashi's. D3 tablets I wouldn't suggest at all, only softgels because of the oil included helping with absorption.

I've never been drawn to the NuU brand. When something is "sponsored" on Amazon, it's just them paying to be at the top of the search list.

The NuU tablet is too high for what is needed when taking D3, if that is why you want K2-MK7. The NuU tablet contains 200mcg, the amount of K2 needed for up to 10,000iu D3 is 90-100mcg.

K2-MK7 is fat soluble, so getting a supplement that is oil based is better. Tablets contain excipients/fillers, the softgels don't.

I much prefer Healthy Options K2-MK7, just the K2 and extra virgin olive oi.

Sorry SeasideSusie - am searching for it. Did you mean Healthy Origins (rather than Options) by any chance, please? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you're right Kipsy, although I put a link in my reply further up.

Apologies! I somehow missed the link in my haste to cancel today's Amazon order of the Jarrows ones. Thanks so much again. Much appreciated.

Funnily enough, I've just ordered more supplements & noticed the 'Nu' brand. I was tempted but in the end opted to pay a little more & got the Thorne brand. Pure Encapsulations I find are very good. Jarrows, Better You & Bio Care products are also great. Better You have a turmeric product.

You do get what you pay for when it comes to supplements and I agree it's a minefield at first 🙂

Thanks!

I love the ‘better you’ brand I have to say.

Will definitely look at all those you have suggested- often it’s trying to get the right formulation that’s a pain!

You're welcome. Do also look at Seaside Susie's post further up & check out her link for more options on supplements.

I too like Better You, just got some of their Magnesium Oil as my aching legs miss it 🙂

......so sorry just realised you've seen her link.

I wouldn't buy turmeric in capsules as it is either not turmeric but curcumin, which is just one of the active ingredients in turmeric, or it is turmeric and it would be a lot cheaper to buy the powder and use it in cooking (as it has to be cooked and eaten with fat and piperine/pepper/chilli to be absorbed). Look up golden paste on the internet and make your own (10 mins to do) or buy ready made in the UK. But I don't see why the company shouldn't be OK.
