You could try and push for a 12.5mcg dose increase, your TSH is still above 1 and some people need it just below 1. If one GP refuses then try a different more helpful GP. Insist on the increase.
Testing just TSH is completely inadequate. You need TSH, FT4 & FT3 to see exactly what is going on. I'd recommend you get some private tests done to include vitamin levels - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3. See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
There is also a new company offering walk in & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays
You likely also have low vitamin levels and for thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL vitamin levels.
It's ideal if you can always get the same brand of levo at every prescription. You can do this by getting GP to write the brand you prefer in the first line of the prescription. Many people find that different brands are not interchangeable.
Do you know if you had positive thyroid antibodies? Many with autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's benefit from a gluten free diet. A smaller percentage of those also need to remove dairy from their diet to feel well. These are intolerances and will not show up on any blood test.
I’d request that your TSH, T4 and T3 are checked if they haven’t been already. Also vitamins B12, D, folate and ferritin as vitamins need to be optimal not scrapping in at bottom of ranges. Good vitamins help conversion of T4 to the most important hormone T3. If your GP won’t or can’t check T3 get it checked privately by Monitor My Health cheaply. Checking conversion of T4 to T3 is very important. I doubt the GP will understand this though. Maybe a referral to an Endocrinologist would help if you have ongoing symptoms. When levels are properly medicated you should have no symptoms.
