More questions from a Levo newbie I'm afraid !

Hello.I started taking my Levo, 75mg about 5 days ago. I've chosen to take it at night because when I wake up between 6 and 7 ( sometimes earlier, rarely later ! ) I tend to have a cup of tea. I could wait 30 mins but I understand it would be better to wait longer. So I thought bedtime would be easier. Well that also has issues ! I usually eat between 6 and 7 and to to bed by around 10pm. I think you are supposed to wait 4 hours after eating but can't I get away with a little less ?? Also I used to have magnesium bisglycinate at night to help with sleep and muscle aches. I was having 3 caps which totalled 240mg. I understand that I can't do Levo and magnesium at night but topically I could, so I'm switching to a magnesium spray and cream for bedtime. My concern is that I don't think I'll get as much magnesium in that form so I'm not sure what to do.

Also I'm on a starting dose of 75mg with a blood test in 8 weeks. What is the criteria the Dr will look at to determine whether to increase my dose ? Whilst I do have lots of Hashies symptoms a lot of them could be put down to digestive problems and stress which has been extreme for quite a while. Should mention that I've been gluten free for nearly 2 years. Did do dairy free for a while but it made no impact. I do tend to be mainly dairy free though, oat milk mostly.

Thanks in advance for your help ☺️

UPDATE : I've tried the topical magnesium but it did nothing for my sleep so I'm going back to taking my magnesium bisglycinate in the afternoon/evening. I thought everything was going to be straightforward once I was prescribed Levo, hasn't realised that when to take it was going to be so complicated 🤔

Levo should be taken 4 hours away from oral magnesium.I leave 3 hours between evening meal and levo dose .

You can take levo any time that suits your routine. You could take it 4 pm for example which would leave bedtime free for magnesium.

I take magnesium malate. The bottle says take with food so I take it lunchtime which keeps it away from my levo .

if you regularly get up for the loo in the night you could take levothyroxine then

Or

Magnesium you can take before/after dinner…..afternoon is as good as bedtime

Hello. I thought I would just reply to you rather than adding an extra posting as you're always very helpful. Taking Levo at night really isn't working for me at the moment. I need to take my magnesium bisglycinate at night/evening as my sleep is dreadful. I've tried topical magnesium but that doesn't work for me. I'm thinking of changing to taking it as soon as I wake up and waiting 30 mins before I have my tea ( decaf with oat milk ). Question is how do I change from taking it at night to in the morning. I took it at 10pm last night and now I've already had my tea at 7.30am. Not sure how to transition. Advice greatly received.

Just take Tomorrow morning

Levothyroxine is a storage hormone, slight delay in dose won’t matter

You could put alarm on for 6am …..take levothyroxine and go back to sleep till 7.30

Oh if only I could 🤣 I can barely sleep past 6am as it is !! I'm really not sure. If I felt certain that I would be able to sleep if I took my magnesium with dinner ( 6-7pm ) then I would take them at night but I'm worried that taking them at that time they won't be as effective ??
