I'm on 100mcg Throxine and 20mcg of Liothyroine daily, is it best to take them at the same time, around 7am? or seperately? Also on Bisporolol (beta blockers) ao not sure when to take that. Impossible to ask cardiologist, 6 month follow up appointment took 14 months, with no time to ask questions.

When and how to take Throxine and Liothyronine

How long have you been on levothyroxine plus T3
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
And same question for T3
Many members split their T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day…..others take as single dose
Trial and Error what suits you
Day before test always split T3 …..with last 1/3rd of daily dose 8-12 hours before test
Last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year
What vitamin supplements are you taking
Thank you for that. Have been on thyroxine 19 years now, and liothyronine around 8. Had a period off liothyronine recently, and a higher dose of thyroxine, but that didn't work for me, have been back on liothyronine 6 months now. I didn't realise people split their liothyronine, might try that. Yes, generally the same brand of thyroxine (Accord), and liothyronine (Thybon Henning, from Sanofi) through Roseway labs. I do have blood tests including those above every time I see my endocrinologist, every 3-6 months. Currently taking Vitamin D, Iron, Turmeric, B12, multivitmins , glucosamine, and folic acid, in addition to HRT, bisoprolol and metformin, so a bit of a cocktail, hence trying to figure out what to take when.
I always take T3 as 3 x 5mcg doses……6.20am (alarm and go back to sleep) …..mid afternoon and bedtime
Multivitamins never recommended on here ….most contain iodine not recommended on replacement thyroid hormones.
And only ever supplement iron if tested and found deficient by doing full iron panel 3-4 times a year
Test vitamin D twice year, test B12 and folate at least annually
Metformin often lowers TSH

You take your Levo and Lio however it suits you. Some of us take them both together, the full day's dose, all at once. Some people feel better if they split the Lio dose. Some people even split their Levo dose. Just make sure that you take them on their own, with water only and water only for an hour each side, and one hour before or two hours after food, and other meds or supplements at least two hours away, so that nothing affects their absorption. Experiment and see what's right for you.
I take mine - both Levo and Lio in one dose - in the early hours of the morning when I regularly need the bathroom, often around 3am. I also take Bisoprolol and I take this when I get up for the day, which is usually around 8.30am.
I find it doesn't matter when I take levothyroxine provided it's away from coffee and food. I take liothyronine half at breakfast and half at bedtime. If the doses are unequal I find it better to take the larger liothyronine dose at bedtime. I find the correct dose of liothyronine improves my sleep quality, deeper sleep with vivid dreams. If I'm taking too much it takes some time to get to sleep, I am too alert.
Tahnk you for your response. Already taking HRT at bedtime, so not sure if they mix ok, but might try.
