I am taking Apple Cider Vinegar with mother and Biomel to try and help my upset stomach.Do these two mix? Will they be working together or do I need to put a lot of time between taking them?

Many Thanks!

The ACV is just to help acidify your stomach so they should mix alright but to be on the safe side perhaps take one with one meal then the other later in the day at another meal time.

just for contrast of approach I mix both into a green smoothie inspired by Izabella Wentz autoimmune recipe with avocado etc which is yummy 🌱

I like to make smoothies but have never thought to include them! Good idea.

Are you diluting the ACV with water? If you swallow ACV undiluted there is a good chance it will be acid enough to cause damage.

As someone with chronic gastritis and a history of stomach ulcer I would definitely suggest you use caution in taking ACV.

Edit : I should point out my problems didn't happen as a result of ACV, but I know that anything acidic will cause me gut problems.

Yes I always dilute it with water and only take it once a day. I had low stomach acid due to being under medicated for a long time. Hopefully, when I start feeling better, I can just keep it for flare ups.

the acetic acid in apple cider vinegar inhibits the enzymes that break down starchy carbohydrates and thus slows the absorption of glucose into the blood stream which reduces the glucose spike. This is good for reducing inflammation.

Biomel is supposed to add probiotics to your gut but is actually sweet so it’s counterproductive because bad flora thrive in a sweet environment. The best way to improve your biome is to eat a wide range of vegetables and natural fibre and cut out processed carbohydrates and processed food.

So to answer your question, the two products are aimed at different functions. If you want to carry on with biomel I would take it at the same time as the ACV because the vinegar should reduce the glucose spike from the sugar. I don’t know if the vinegar will also kill the bacteria in the biomel.

Perhaps buy probiotic capsules instead (which don’t contain sugar). Although the best thing is to improve your veg intake. Good bacteria from eating vegetables will make short chain fatty acids which protect the intestines and cure leaky gut.

Thanks thats really interesting. I was concerned that ACV would kill off the bacteria in the Biomel so have been keeping them apart. I have bought 2 weeks supply of them so will continue to take them until they are gone.I am also trialling gluten free and am earing lots of salads at the moment.

Thanks for your advise.
