Hi currently on 150 microgram of Levothyroxine my result for my bloods for my T4 have come back normal. However i am still experiencing tiredness, weight gain sore muscles and depression not to mention hair loss.
Asked my GP if he would check my T3 levels and he refused saying it was unnecessary. Am from the UK and i believe this is a normal response.
Was wondering if anyone has any advice on the starting dose to take of T3 i am still going to take my T4 Levo but was thinking to reduce it to say 100 micrograms a day.
Would appreciate any feedback and information on a good UK suppliere of T3 feel free to PM me.

You are advised to get full thyroid profile bloods done to include TSH, FT4 & FT3 + vitamins ferritin, folate, B12 & D3 and antibodies before your appointment to avoid wasting your first visit.

Scammers are joining the forum on a very regular basis and messaging members with their assertions that they have successfully purchased xyz medication from zyx source.

First step is to get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
See exactly what % through range FT3 is compared to Ft4
Do you always get same brand Levothyroxine at each prescription
Test 6-8 weeks after any dose change or brand change in Levothyroxine
ALWAYS test thyroid level early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose Levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s
Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.
Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.
Low vitamin levels are extremely common when hypothyroid, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis
In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)
ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year
