I don't have the answer to that Eeyore but I hope it goes well for you and I would be interested to hear what it entails🤗

Thanks you 🤗... come at a good time really as I did a bit too much on Sunday and it has floored me, many say they feel (temporarily) good after it 😉

Yes I read you had been helping your kids to move - no mean feat! I really don't know much about the test at all but would be interested as I sent off for the saliva test from regenerous but couldn't make enough saliva so it was a waste of money☹️

Hidden used a swab one last time I wonder if that would work for you?

Oh that's interesting - will have to speak to her later but thanks for telling me.

Better to have at least 4 timings to give you a better idea what is going on 😉

All done, BP, oxygen levels and pulse taken along with blood sample for serum cortisol, canula left in for acth to be added, wait 30mins another blood draw and free to go, made me feel sleepy so I don't know what that means 🤷‍♀️didn't rev me up 🙃

Back to filling the car with stuff to deliver to the kids

Well it didn't sound too awful and maybe you didn't rev up as you would have already been knackered with all the moving business - that's what good Mum's do🤗

Haven't the foggiest. I would probably not take it till I got home, but that might not be good advice.. lol..

🤔

But I am very pleased to hear you are getting it done 👍 will be thinking of you, be Interesting to see how it goes.

is a SS test a short synacthen test? If so. Take your meds before as usual or it could be a false reading. I recently had a short synacthen test. Why I don’t know as my 9am cortisol is always adequate. Anyways I took my T3 and T4 meds as usual. The test was fine. My cortisol rose quite high within each time phase. Amazingly I felt absolutely brilliant for a day and a half afterwards. Then back to my normal which is also pretty good

Thanks, that’s what I did in the end 🤗 seemed most sensible… I’ve just had my shot and waiting for the rush… they are only doing a 30min one?

yes mine was 30 mins also. Got the results about 2 weeks later. I felt bloody marvellous in the afternoon and all day the following day. Hope you feel good also or normal anyway. 👍😀

I felt decidedly sleepy whilst sitting there waiting for the possible flush... still waiting for the uplift 🙃lets hope it kicks in later🤞it's likely the only good thing that'll come out of it 😅..... normal... that'll be a novelty😅🤗

What was the outcome for you?

my outcome - normal 0 minutes cortisol of 432. 30mins cortisol 665. 60 minute cortisol 829. Comment was perfectly normal stimulation. They didn’t put the range in the letter. They also did TSH 0.7 (0.2-6.0). T4 12. No range but within range. T3 5.4 no range but within range. They also did sodium 142, urea 5.3, creatinine 79, eGFR 68. Again no ranges. Said it was all very reassuring and no action. I don’t know why I was called in for this as my cortisol is always adequate done every 3 months at 9am by my GP. The hospital I had it done at is not linked to my patient access nor GP so I can’t view on patient access only by letter. Hope yours goes well or you get help if you need it. I did feel rather marvellous for a day and half after the false ATCH.

Exemplory! Very thorough! I hope they just do cortisol as I take 2/3rds of my T3 first thing 😕

That’ll start the fun and games off again

well if they do your T3 you will at least know where your level gets to once ingested T3 medication. Mine never goes over 6 which is the highest point. It’s normally about 5.4 ish. TSH also reflects I’m not over medicated. I believe in being ‘adequately’ medicated, as over medication can cause lots of symptoms. T4 is adequate also. That’s my recipe, never over or under and TSH about 1.00.

True but if anywhere above 5 they try to reduce it which puts me back to bed, you do well with a good TSH as mine has been very low since starting T3, I work more on symptoms

my NHS Endo sees my T3 T4 and TSH results and has never suggested reducing with a T3 of 5.4. If my TSH was suppressed I think he would suggest reduction though. I think it’s more about TSH suppression and the harm they think that can do. Can you reduce your levo T4 to bring your TSH away from suppression. That’s what I did in the beginning. I reduced levo by 10% and it worked more importantly I felt much better too. Hope you feel ok today after the synacthen test

I did try a lower T4 for 3 months down to 24% with no effect on TSH and it just put me back to bed.

Didn’t feel any effect from the SS test, just checking my stats and my BP and heart rate lowered in the hour afterwards 🤷‍♂️

I do confess that I when I got home rather disappointed with the lack of uplift I took my 5mg hydrocortisone and we cracked on and got the rest of the kids stuff moved and the dog! Done by 10.30pm slept well.... easy day today letting the washing machine and robovac take the strain 😏

I'm pretty sure getting cortisol levels right holds the key 🤗
