This paper discusses the effects if any of herbal remedies on thyroid function. Not comprehensive, but interesting and worthy of a better controlled study.

i find the herbal studies so interesting too and this sparked a 'thoughtful' conversation this evening
Me: general blah about studies that show black seed oil decreases TSH and cholesterol and increases FT3. I bought some a few months back when GP was refusing levo increase but never took it. (I actually forgot I had bought it.)
Him: Why not?
(Note this was after he ‘finally’ watched a video by Bianco that presented quite well why your T3 goes down when you take T4 mono therapy etc. Now even he knows more than the GP)
Me: I'm worried it will work and then when I find a way to get T3 I won't get it because my T3 is OK
Him: But you've said that you will have to spend a small fortune and jump through hoops to get T3, and this bottle was less than £20?
Me: (Head starting to hurt) Did you want enchiladas for dinner? (Gluten free of course)
Thank you for posting. I'd heard on the grapevine that ashwanga could help hypothyroidism, though I've never tried ashwanga myself. I prefer it when the grapevine is backed up by scientific studies albeit limited ones.
Mmm, very interesting indeed, thank you Diogenes. Of interest too, while studying in India I was given as a gift by a Scientist and Yoga Master a herbal powder which he said would help my uat. By the end of around 6 weeks I was indeed feeling much better and continued taking the substance until it ran out once back in the UK and continued to be well. I had put the improvement down to being in a warm sunny climate and away from home responsibilities, but perhaps it was the herbal powder. If anyone is interested I will see if I can find out what was in the powder.
