High TSH & High T4 & Gallbladder Issues

Hypothyroidism since age 34, now age 60. Uneventful dose changes over the years. Things changed approximately 7 months ago. Started having panic attacks- felt like my body was riddled with an anxiety that was making me lose my mind. I was getting a terrible pain in the hollow area just below center of chest and stomach discomfort. Ended up in emergency several times and they were confused because both TSH and T4 were high. My primary doc was handling as I tried to get an Endocrinologist. Mid December got into Endo who said she would run tests. She’s said they were fine, go back on Levo and no follow up needed. I felt abandoned and it took me until a couple weeks ago to get into a new Endocrinologist who seems much better. Waiting for results from lots of labs yesterday. During this time in between, I have suffered gallbladder attacks yet all tests indicated gallbladder was ok. Except when they did HIDA Scan which showed hyperkinetic gallbladder that spasms and an Ejection Fraction of 96%. I read this can cause anxiety and contribute to neck pain which I currently suffer from as well. I think there is a direct link between what is happening after I take my Levothyroxine in the morning and the panic attacks and pain that occurs within a couple hours and my gallbladder. When I skipped my Levo for 3 weeks in December (because I couldn’t take the panic attacks) I felt good other than fatigue setting in as my TSH was rising. My gastroenterologist is sending me to a surgeon to discuss removing gallbladder. My appointment is two weeks from today. Does anyone else have combined gallbladder and thyroid issues? I’m in U.S. and I have taken comfort from reading posts here. Thank you. I hope I can offer something in return.

I’ve just been catching up with the posts on the forum and see that you haven’t had any replies. I’m sorry I can’t say anything about your condition as I know nothing about Gallbladder problems. This is a very busy forum and sometimes posts are missed. I do hope you’ll get replies by someone who can help. Anyone? SeasideSusie SlowDragon

Yes, being hypothyroid makes gallbladder issues more common

healthunlocked.com/search/p...

ALWAYS Test thyroid early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Retest 6-8 weeks after any dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

ESSENTIAL to also test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

These need maintaining at OPTIMAL Levels
