Blood test help please?

Had PET CT scan in March which showed I have an inflammed Thyroid. Had blood test done at hospital TSH, FT4 were in normal range but Anti TPO were high. Had Vitamin levels checked all in normal range.Just got results back from a private test so hoped I could get some advise before my Endocrinology appointment.

TSH 7.78 RANGE 0.35 - 5.5

FT4 13.3 RANGE 11.9 - 21.6

FT3 4.36 RANGE 2.8 - 6.5

ANTI TPO 478 RANGE 0 - 34

Anti TG 418 Range 0 - 115

Test done at 9am

My main symptons are fatigue, brain fog and weight gain. I'm guessing the doctors won't be able to help!

Well, they should do, with that high TSH and high antibodies - and your FT4 is pretty low. You have Hashi's - aka Autoimmune Thyroiditis - and you are hypo. So, if they refuse to help, throw a plant pot at them! (Only joking, of course )

GP should either retest again in 6 weeks

or

start you on levothyroxine now

Please add vitamin results and ranges

Request GP do coeliac blood test too as per NICE guidelines
