complete blood test

I have purchased a complete blood test kit, as with a NHS blood test for underactive thyroid you do not get a complete blood test. Unfortunately I need my blood to be drawn so I can send away for this test. Will the NHS do this for free as they won’t be testing it.

The NHS is not obliged to take blood for private tests. You can ask but be prepared to be refused. My surgery wont do it. I rang the local hospital (albeit they are over 50 miles away) and they refused even when I offered to pay, they require any blood draw to be requested by your GP.

So if your surgery or local hospital wont do it you'll have to pay for private phlebotomy, some Superdrug branches offer it (you'll need to check their website) or the company you purchased your private blood test from might have clinics you could use or offer home phlebotomy. Check the website of the company where you purchased it, it should actually have been an option when you made the purchase.
