TFT Results

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my GP telling me to reduce my Levothyroxine from100/75 mcg alternating to 75mcg daily following my TFT in April, having dropped it to 100/75 alternating from 100 daily following my TFT the previous year .

I asked for the results from the this year and last and picked them up today and it seems that only TSH has been tested.

Results 09/04/23: TSH 0.12 <mU/L (0.4-4.0) On T4? Yes (bloods done 08:05 meds taken 07:00)

Results 21/06/22: TSH 0.17 <mU/L (0.4-4.0) On T4? Yes (bloods done 11:27 meds taken 07:00)

Protocol not followed either time (I didn't know about the time being relevant or not to take Levo for 24hours before test)

The bloods tested 21/06/22 were follow up after the reduction of Levo.

I just need to know what levels it is I'm asking my GP to test so that I have a full thyroid screen done. I'm not hopeful so expect I'll have to have private testing done so any recommendations on where to have that done greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

The thyroid levels you need are TSH, FT4 & FT3. Chances of getting them all done is slim to none.

Vitamin tests needed are ferritin, folate, B12 & D3.

Private testing links here with discount codes which is where most people get their results. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process)? Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.
