When assessing thyroid function we really need a full panel which includes TSH, FT4 & FT3. Unfortunately the NHS rarely, if ever test FT3 and members here but private blood tests to see the results they need.
What time of day was your test taken? For highest TSH we recommend testing at or as close to 9am. TSH varies throught the day and this is when it is at its highest.
Free T4 (fT4) 14.3 pmol/L (11.9 - 21.6) 24.7%
Your thyroid is likely struggling.
Have you ever had your thyroid antibodies tested as I would recommend that.
When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins. Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
Jaydee - thank you for the reply. My blood test was done at 8am. I haven't asked the GP to test for anything else as I wouldn't know what to ask for - not sure they would do so anyway. I could look at private tests as you suggest.
