study shows phthalates decrease T4, T3

I came across this study today:

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/259...

In animals, this study shows that phthalates decrease T4, T3, and TRH but not TSH.

Which is interesting as we know that thyroid medications are often prescribed based on TSH. So if phthalates are messing with free T3 and free T4 but not TSH, these people are likely missed out by our healthcare system.

It is. More so because it seems nearly impossible to avoid. Does make you wonder why it’s allowed.

because most humans are too short sighted to realise that having nice bendy plastic things that don't crack and last forever, might just become a massive problem when their planet is full of it, they can't clear it up , it lasts forever, and it ends up in everything, including their food.

yeah. I guess I know ‘why’ . But it’s one of those things that’s just so wrong and makes it hard to understand if you know what I mean. Like hungry children, weed killers, fossil fuels, etc etc etc

And that study has been cited by some others which at least mostly confirm and extend the conclusions.

This link is a search to the cited articles - most of which are available on PubMed Central:
