nodules on my chest

have been told I have nodules on my chest, found with a CT scan, have had a under active thyroid for the past 70 years could this be thyroid related. Seeing an endocrinologist next week, going private to get it sorted, any helpful advice would be appreciated. This site is so helpful.

Are these nodules on your thyroid? Where in your chest are they?

Have you seen the private Endo yet? Your FT3 was previously below range.

Did your GP prescribe you folic acid for your deficient folate?

thanks for your reply much appreciated, my test was a private test no folic acid prescribed. Seeing somebody next Friday at the Park in Nottingham. Just told they are on my chest, went with the NHS to start with then kicked my health insurance in due to delays. Just want to ask correct questions when I see her. They had been found on a CT scan. Thanks for prompt reply

Just told they are on my chest,

Then I'd ask them to be more specific, start asking questions so that you can fully understand the situation.

that’s what I intend to do, she should have access to my NHS CT scan, scan was sent to Lung MDT who suggested a ultrasound scan of the thyroid to check any suspicious endocrine thyroid nodule. This was done through NHS I have since gone private. Will have further information after seeing her. Thanks for reply much appreciated.

I can't answer about the nodules as there isn't enough information on where they are etc.

You do really need to discuss your deficient folate result. Take your results along to the appointment and ask for a folic acid prescription.

With private Endo you need to point out your below range FT3 but you could also discuss your folate result there.

Do you mean nodules on lungs?

What was the purpose of the the CT scan, was it specifically looking at lungs because you'd reported certain symptoms (you don't have to answer if you'd rather not disclose any information).

Apparently lung nodules can be quite common, my son has a couple and he doesn't have a thyroid problem but he does have a lung problem but as yet no definitive diagnosis.

I have very recently been found to have a couple of lung nodules but I do have lung disease, and as they've only recenty been found and I've been diagnosed hypothyroid for almot 50 years I doubt very much that they're connected.

thought I had vascular problems this is how it all started, with NHS then just trying to get to the bottom of it, vascular consultant I saw privately in the end said it is not vascular. So just trying to get to find out what’s causing my symptoms. Thanks for help.
