Struggling to find Cytomel anymore

Hello there! I'm new to the forum so apologies in advance if this is a subject which has been covered previously.

I have been taking Cytomel T3 to treat Hashimoto's for almost 10 years from the same source. Unfortunately in the last year this source has discontinued stocking Cytomel. I have tried the generic version offered as an alternative, but strangely it gives me quite unpleasant side effects and doesn't feel as though it is working. I have also in the past tried Tiromel, which wasn't as effective as the Cytomel for me.

I wondered if anyone who has perhaps been in the same boat, offer advice on where it may still be possible to purchase Cytomel without prescription? Or if anyone has found an alternative brand which has worked similarly for them? I wondered if Cynomel might be a good option to try.

Thank you in advance for any help at all, it is so hugely and kindly appreciated!

Anyone who has a source of Cytomel should send this information by private message only.

Also be aware that there are sites that will take your money and not provide the goods. Do PM an Admin to check if we have any information on the source that you choose.

Welcome to the group

We would welcome you making a new post with any issues you are facing with your hypothyroidism. Do include latest blood results, TSH, FT4 & FT3.

When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins. Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?Just checking if you have had bloods done recently? If not then recommend you do to include key vitamins ferritin, folate, B12 & D3.

People are more likely to make recommendations if you have previously made posts and also completing your profile (click your image icon) can help people know your thyroid journey.
