I have Hashimotos and ideally want to change the brand of synthetic thyroxine I am taking
I’m going to see my doctor today to ask this. I am currently on Tevo but would like to switch to one without sweetener /other fillers. Is there one which anyone can recommend a brand which doesn’t have any of these sweeteners /fillers please which is likely to be agreed on the NHS?
Thank you in advance.

There is only one other brand currently available that doesn't contain lactose and that is Aristo but it only comes in a 100mcg dose.
Unfortunately a tablet does have to be made of 'something' other than the medicine itself. It's really a matter of what agrees with you or doesn't.
Liquid Levo is also available but is several hundred pounds a bottle as opposed to pennies a packet so your GP is unlikely to agree to prescribe that option. The liquid does often also have some form of synthetic sweetner.
It was the sweetener I am trying to specifically avoid as I’m not yet completely dairy free. Any recommendations for a sweetener free brand would be appreciated.
There is only one UK levothyroxine that contains no sweetener. Aristo.
All others contain one or other of lactose, mannitol, glycerol, etc.

LottyA a lot of people have problems with TEVA I became very ill when taking it. My scrip clearly says NO TEVA Teva contains acacia powder. I now take Actavis/Almus which does have lactose and have been taking it for the last 11 years. Do not accept the usual advice trotted out that all thyroid pills are the same!
