Hi. I am on 150mcgs of eltroxin tablets and am transitioning on to 90mgs of NDT. My NDT was made in a compound laboratory and it has come as CAPSULES!!!!
Any ideas on how I am going to titrate off the eltroxin tablets to the 90mgs powered CAPSULES.
Thank you as always
Forever hopeful 🌈 and 🦄

I have seen some members pour contents into other capsules. If it were me I would pour the amount needed into a glass of water and drink straight away.
It’s not great and I assume hormone delivery will be much faster, which is exactly what we’re trying to slow when introducing T3 containing meds but it’s a way forward.
How many capsules is your 90mg daily dose made up of?
Well, if this were me I would try to introduce a quarter capsule once a day.
90mcg NDT contains 13.5 mcg T3, so a quarter would be 3.375mcg T3 which is a good amount to introduce as you've previously had such thyroid hormone difficulties. It will be tricky and you would do better to take too little (which means nothing will happen) as opposed to excess (which could cause horrible intolerance symptoms).
Also it would be good to safely retain the amount left in the capsule for future doses but if it's not possible it won't matter as your prescription is for one a day. Just ensure unused powder isn't left lying around for the dog to lick up as its immensely powerful stuff.
Hold this dose for two weeks and then raise to half a capsule. Hold two weeks, then raise to 3/4 capsule and then finally after six weeks make the complete switch.
What are latest labs? FT4 levels will dictate if a Levo reduction is initially necessary and by how much after each NDT increase.
I am not sure when I went to NDT several years ago I started with just a quarter am and another quarter pm. What a nightmare for you. With pills the NDT is delivered slowly and you can cut them into quarters or halves.
