I am currently taking 75g Thyroxine along with 10 g of Liothyonine .split into 5g . Before seeing the consultant I was taking 125g of Thyroxine, and had been feeling tired and lethargic for some time since being reduced from 150g. I am now really not well, can’t sleep, and feeling Dreadful most of the time

My latest results are. TSH. 0.06 0.35-5.50mu/L

F3 4.7. 3:50–6.50 mol/L F4 15.6 10.00 - 20.00 pmoL/L

On looking at my TSH levels over the last 14 years, my TSH levels are pretty much the same (certainly less than 1) doesn’t seem to make a difference what level of thyroxine I am taking.

Would really appreciate your opinions, I am seeing consultant next week, and really don’t know what to expect or ask for Thank you so much

Free T4 (fT4) 15.6 pmol/L (10 - 20) 56.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.7 pmol/L (3.5 - 6.5) 40.0%

So your Levo was reduced by too much.

To feel well people generally need both FT4 & FT3 at around 60-70% so you can see both of yours are under that.

When hypo we get low stomach acid that means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins. Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?

Have your antibodies been tested? If positive have you tried a gluten free diet? This helps many and some also need to eliminate dairy from their diet.

The more important measure of how well you might be is your FT3. Now you are on T3, TSH becomes irrelevant as will likely be suppressed.

thank you I did wonder whether to up my thyroxine, but not sure by how much? I have never had antibodies tested. I do supplement with B12 and Vit D, my ferritin levels were 53. 10:00- 291 00 ug folate 15, those results were from June last year

You could add in a very small amount of Levo or 5mcgs T3. Split the dose with 8hrs between, morning, afternoon & bedtime.

By the way, when was last dose of Levo & T3 before this test? Recommended timing is 24hrs Levo & 8-12hrs T3.

Ferritin really needs some work to get it to 90-100 where thyroid hormone is best used at. Focus on iron rich diet - chicken livers a few times a week, pate, red meat etc

A good quality B complex is recommended to keep all the B's in balance. This one fits the bill and is reasonably priced. hempoutlet.co.uk/vitablosso...

Vitamins should be retested annually and D3 twice a year.

thank you I’ll try that. Ferritin levels could be a problem as I don’t eat red meat!

24 hrs between last thyroxine and blood test and 8 hrs with f3 Test done at 8:30am. I do take a Vit b complex as recommended on this page Thanks again

How did you feel on the old dose of 150. If then it was good, then ask for it back.

I'm not sure if it's true, I know a woman who takes 200mkg.

maybe she doesn’t have a thyroid at all! Presumably her bloods are ok 🥴

Maybe, I don't know, but if you feel good only on T4, what's the point of taking something else that makes you sicker. You decide what's best for you.

because nhs endocrinologist insisted on me reducing thyroxine, which I did, because of TSH being too low, Unfortunately I started to feel very tired and lethargic, which is why I decided to give t3 a go

Keep in mind that some people feel better with hormons higher than the given laboratory ranges and furthermore, when something works well, it does not touch and change, despite the low tsh. Doctors look only numbers and do not care what symptoms a person has.What was the morning temperature before, and what is it now? It has to be 36.6 at least to be good,as well as blood pressure and pulse compare how they were before and how they are now.

Hi R7....

Do you have the fT4 / fT3 / TSH results from taking 150mcg levo ( when on levo only) ?

Was it reduced because fT4 was over range , or just low TSH ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How did you feel on reduced dose of 125/150 levo ?
These were from 125/150 alternate:
TSH 0.01. [0.35-5.5]
fT4 18.5 [10-20]
fT3 4.8 [3.5-6-5]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Your current results on 75mcg T4/10 T3 are:

TSH. 0.06 [0.35-5.5]

fT4 15.6 [10 - 20]

fT3 4.7 [3.5–6.5]

Your current TSH is a bit higher than it was on just 125/150 levo .. and your current FT4 and fT3 are both a bit lower .. so effectively you are now on a slightly lower dose overall than you were on 125/ 150 ... even though you now have some added T3.

hi. The dose was reduced just because TSH was too low. When I reduced from 150 to 125 TSH 0.03. T4 22.5. I don’t have T3 results
