Hi, I’ve had hypothyroid for approximately the past 5 years. Since around November I’ve had really puffy undereyes/cheekbone areas, especially in the mornings when I wake. My eyes have also been slightly more watery than normal I’d say. Initially I thought I’d had a reactivation of a childhood Epstein-Barr infection but blood tests drew a -ve on this. I’ve now started wondering if it’s related to my thyroid. I don’t have detailed blood results as I haven’t had my annual private full-panel done yet (it’s due next month) but my most recent TSH from December was 0.5 (0.27-4.2 range). Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this under eye puffiness and whether it could be related to thyroid. I don’t have any eye bulging or anything like that but this puffiness looks horrible, I look so tired and it’s getting me down.
Thank you

Yes this can be a hypothyroid symptoms, it's called periorbital oedema. There are other causes though and as you probably know a TSH result alone isn't going to tell us much about how well your thyroid treatent is doing. Best get those private tests run to include FT3 and full vitamin profile.
