Thank you, helvella - she's really good - so many of those are either vilified or ignored.

I find it a blessed relief reading Tania - no plugging of supplements, "consultations", random other products and services. Just the subject under discussion.

Yes, and we so need more. How different the lives of many could be with that straightforward, smart approach. In the meanwhile, we have you and diogenes + a few more - THANK YOU.

Happy New Year. 🍀

1. Prioritize the primary goals or “clinical endpoints” of therapy (symptom relief and health outcomes)

2. Measure and analyze at least the three basic hormones (TSH, FT3, FT4)

3. Engage in continuous professional development in thyroid disease and treatment.

4. Engage in 2-way dialogue with thyroid patients.

5. Encourage competent, highly-engaged patients to participate in their care between appointments.

Yep .. that would help.. so far most of our GP's haven't managed to comprehend or implement even no 1.

Thank you Helvella, how refreshing to read an honest article, there's so many points in there I wish my endocronoogist and doctors would read and take note of. I have endo appt on 16th and will try to highlight some of it to her. Last time I tried to show her the article about low T3 and cardiovascular link she just waved it away saying Tsh is everything and T3 is just a snapshot. As in the article, I feel abandoned too as I don't fit the guidelines, you expect better care from a professor don't you?

i think anyone who is seeing a GP / Endo should print this article off and 'accidentally leave it on their desk'

Yes, I think that's a plan 😊

Thank you for sharing this, it was really interesting and also empowering - the more I learn on here, the stronger I feel that I’m doing the right thing for MY body.

I’m self treating at the moment with NDT but dread the day, if money runs out, that I would be at the mercy of GPs and Endos.
