normal TSH, borderline low T4 free

Hi, I’m new to all things thyroid. My doc said my tests were fine, but my T4 free is borderline low. Is this something I should be addressing? I’ve had numerous symptoms for years that could fall under the low thyroid umbrella.

TSH 2.11 (reference range 0.40-4.50)

T4, free 0.9 (0.8-1.8ng/dL)

T3, free 3.2 (2.3-4.2 pd/ml)

Thyroglobulin antibodies <1 (<1 IU/mL)

Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies <1 (<9 Iu/mL)

you need vitamin D, folate, B12 and full iron panel test for anaemia including ferritin

What’s your diet like

Are you vegetarian or vegan, gluten free or dairy free

My doctor just prescribed iron infusions and b12 injections. I am not on a special diet and I don’t have any dietary restrictions. I’ve been supplementing vitamin D for 5 months, I haven’t retested but my vitamin d at the time was 21.5

B12 294 (normal range 200-1100 pg/ml)

Folate 15.8 (normal >5.4)

Homocysteine 7.6 (normal range <10.4 umolurology/L)

MMA 128 (normal 87-318 nmol/L)

CRP 7.2 (normal <8)TSH 2.11 (normal 0.40-4.50)

Iron

Retest thyroid levels in 2-3 months once vitamin levels are all at GOOD Levels

Low vitamin levels tend to lower TSH

Being hypothyroid frequently causes low stomach acid and leads to poor nutrient absorption and low vitamin levels as direct result

Can take several months to improve low ferritin

Always test thyroid levels early morning for highest TSH

You need to retest

How much vitamin D are you currently taking

Looking for vitamin D at least over 40ng/mL

(or 100nmol U.K. units)
