BEST BRAND OF T4

hi all I would love some advice on medication brands. What is the best quality T4 medication and also T3 (I’m not on t3 though).

I don’t think there is a best brand. You’ll get some very mixed opinions. And honestly, if you’re prescribed Levo in the UK many have to put up with whatever their local pharmacy can get in, so that doesn’t help (there are ways around that but both GPs and pharmacists can be difficult about it).

Teva is the real marmite levothyroxine brand—it’s lactose free but contains mannitol, which for the very sensitive seems to cause issues. People love it or absolutely hate it (and some feel quite unwell on it).

Edited to add, just been reading through your previous posts. Did you manage to get your levothyroxine prescription in the end? Can’t believe they tried to withhold levothyroxine from someone without a thyroid—you just couldn’t make that up.

Are you now on B12 injections or daily B12 supplement prescribed by GP

Or were you forced to self supplement to improve terrible low B12

Have you had vitamin D and full iron panel test for anaemia including ferritin testing yet

And coeliac blood test

If not get these done ASAP

We must have good vitamin levels on levothyroxine

hi thanks for your reply, I’m having a blood test this morning with my private endo, including cortisol taken dexamethszone last night. I haven’t taken any t4 this morning either. Is there anything else I should select on my the bloods from I send u a screen shot of the bloods form. So I have sourced my own b12 shots but I have taken any yet so that I can get A true overall reading.

The only real answer to "best" is whichever works for you and is available.

There are, I think, members who have found each available product the best for them!
