Yes, mine improved after I started T3 that was added to my Levothyroxine. It had started after thyroidectomy for Graves’ disease and I had many other unpleasant symptoms over the years before I figured out that I was missing something and began to investigate what it might be. Eventually it was a customer of my fashion business who suggested it. I am indebted to her but it is a pity my GP didn’t have a clue…
Hi, can I ask what kind of tinnitus you have please? My tinnitus started having RAI, only in the left ear and vitamin d makes it worse. How much T3 do you take?
mine is a constant hissing but as I said before, is not as annoying as it used to be, owing to starting on T3 many years ago. I cannot be sure whether it is in one or both ears, as the hissing is more in my head than emanating from either ear. Sorry not to be more helpful on this point.
Thanks for getting back to me. Mines like a vibration noise. Just trying to work out why trying to raise my vit d makes it worse, its a mystery. Thank you, glad you have found some relief 😊
Hello Thyroid_mum I have had tinnitus for many years before starting on Thyroxine, and there was no difference in my tinnitus levels when eventually I did start. If you need to know more about tinnitus the RNID ( for deafness) have advise leaflets and a helpline. Eg always try to keep your headphone/volume levels of music below the level of your tinnitus. This way your’re less likely to damage your hearing. Also have you any concerns about your hearing? Tinnitus and deafness can be different conditions. The RNID have a phone line where you can have a very basic hearing test. The result will tell you if you need to explore it more or not.
I find my tinnitus becomes unbearable under a cute stress. To combat this I watch tv with cordless headphones, and Wi-Fi headphones for music/ audiobooks.Doing anything like this distracts the brain from focusing on the tinnitus level and also aids feelings of calm. Thyroid conditions engender anxiety as a by product of the condition, and aside from all blood tests and vitamin supplements being worth thinking about .you might need practical ‘ distraction techniques to pull you out of a slump. A simple walking around the block or a visit to the park can help sometimes
liothyronine... Yes happy to help. Apologies iv never had tinnitus so sorry I cannot help with it's improvement on this medication. Regarding the medication itself, I am still finding my dosage as I have secondary hypothyroidism. I source mine from roseway labs in liquid form. I have tried a few tablets with terrible absorbion issues but the liquid which consists of only olive oil and silica seems to give me no digestive issues or iching.
I'm trying to work out when the best time to take my medication is also. I just know that I def need to take it on an empty stomach. I am taking it twice a day at the moment slowly increasing but I still have not fully felt the effects of it yet at 20mcg.
I believe Lev. ruined my health and I was mis diagnosed by a prescription happy doctor, no sx , but elevate TSH. Some say taking lev won't damage your health, but it does disrupt nl function. Some time you recover sometimes you don't . It gave me "unexplained" low grade elevated BP and had my body spinning like it was on speed . I never ever had even remotely elevated BP be fore taking Lev. My advice is use caution and fully understand your DX and not some wack- a- doodle lab #. God bless you and keep you truly. Understand how and why your dx was made. Nutritional deficiencies can cause a great deal of sx that sadly doctors fail to recognize. Last Summer I was dx with dry eye and recommended eye drops. See the list below Vit B 12 that helps with dry eye, tinnitus just for starters never once was it mentioned to me. I researched and take Vit B 12 now Protect your health, God love you!
