Quick update on my post from the other day and blood results.
I am currently pregnant from a fresh IVF transfer and taking 125 levothyroxine due to Hashimotos.
My TSH was 1.2 before transfer a few weeks ago. It is now 1.5.
My antibodies are very high- 88 (they were 55 in July).
I have asked to be referred to an endocrinologist but fear this will take too long. I am looking to find a private one but I wondered if anyone could help me interpret my results and have any suggestions.
My Gp says he doesn’t want to increase thyroxine as it’s a high dose and my TSH is under 2, which is what IVF specialists want for treatment.
Here are the results of my other tests:
Vit D -140 ,
Folate- 23+,
Ferretin- 117 (range 15-300)
B12- 264 (range 130-900)
TSH - 1.51
T3- 3.9 (range 2.4-6)
T4-14.1 (range 8.9- 17.3)
TPO Antibodies 85 (55 in July)
Thank you so much.

i think you have no need to worry about the antibodies .... Raised TPOab is expected in hashimoto's patients .. and your TPOab levels are actually 'relatively' low .
up to 100ish is extremely common in autoimmune hypothyroidism... , but for research purposes when they want to be absolutely certain the cases have autoimmune hypothyroidism , then 500 ish is considered high/ strong positive .. and >1000 is considered very high.
i had >3000 when diagnosed. 20yrs later they are 195
Levels of TPOab will fluctuate .. its the nature of autoimmune thyroid disease... so occasional increases are to be expected . TPOab (Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies) have a job to do ... they are not causing the thyroid destruction, it's your immune system is doing that .. the TPOab are markers that attach to Thyroid Peroxidase that has been spilled from inside the thyroid (as a result of the autoimmune attack) . The immune system then recognises the markers and cleans up the spilled thyroid peroxidase.
try not to worry . .. easier said than done , i know .
Sorry i can't be much with the vitamin results, but other members will be .
yes , but honestly , i wouldn't panic about it .. your fT4 levels is reasonably high in range anyway at the moment . How many weeks are you ?
it's only in the very early weeks ( can't remember exactly how long off the top of my head )that the baby is totally reliant on your fT4 level .. after that it makes it's own .. and you do currently have 'plenty' of fT4 to give it ;
Most thyroid patients on levo will not get their Levo increased when they conceive , because most are just as 'ignored' during pregnancy as when they are not .. and they won't know to ask for increase. and most will have healthy babies .
excuse my rampant generalisations.. i do understand it's not going to be easy to chill out about it when you've had to go though ivf to get there
Just trying to put things in perspective for you .. i do appreciate why you would be feeling worried .... but don't panic about it .
This is just my opinion .. not 'advice' .. but if you're really concerned , why do you feel the need to wait ? .. can you not just slightly increase dose slightly yourself.. ie. extra 12.5 or 25mcg every day . personally if i was in your position i'd just take an extra 12.5mcg every day .. enough to put my mind at rest .. not enough to cause a huge change that might unsettle anything or give blood result that would freak the GP out.
