Change of levothyroxine supplier

Hi I am now currently on Accord 50mg levothyroxine, after having mercury 50mg for over 5 years. Does anyone get an acid stomach after swoping suppliers. I have never had this before only after having the new tablets. Has anyone managed to get mercury 50mg. I live in the North west. Thankyou

pharmacies list as Advanz

Mercury Pharma and Eltroxin are identical and brand is Advanz

25mcg, 50mcg and 100mcg tablets are available

50mcg is only the standard starter dose levothyroxine

perhaps you need next dose increase in levothyroxine?

Yes, I have discovered that the brand of levothyroxine I take does make a difference to me, and my GP has specified the brand that suits me on my repeat prescription...MercuryPharma only.

Hi, I am also in the North West, and found by accident (on swapping pharmacies) that Mercury Pharma works best for me. My GP specifies this on my prescription now. Recently I have had trouble sourcing Mercury Pharma (I get it in a bottle, not strips, or they supply 4 x 25 mcg as they can't get 100s) and last week they could not get MP. I had to ask my GP to write a prescription for Eltroxin, which is exactly the same product, manufactured by exactly the same people.

I plan to ring all the local pharmacies to see who can help me get MP consistently, and swap to that one. On the thread I wrote yesterday about this there is some useful advice from other forum members. I hope you have managed to find MP again since your original post.
