Weight gain on Levothyroxine ?

Am wondering if I am under medicated on Levothyroxine as I continue to gain weight and cannot attribute it to anything else?

I am on 75mcg.

My last blood test was in September , my readings were:

I am clearly within the parameters of normal range .

Serum TSH 0.97 miu/L ( Lab range 0.3 - 5.5)

Setum Free T4 16.5 pm/L (Lab range 10.00 - 22)

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

It's difficult to tell anything without a FT3 blood result. Also, to make your thyroid hormone work well you need OPTIMAL levels of ferritin, folate, B12 and D3. Ask your GP if they can test those for you, if not then get private bloods done that also inclide FT3.

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

If GP won’t test vitamin levels get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing privately

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning

Watch out for postal strikes
