Does anyone know which brand of T3 is used in Malta and whether or not you can purchase over the counter?

Thanks for any pointers.

At one time, Malta had Mercury Pharma Tertroxin. Afraid I didn't keep up with what happened properly but the licensing of that is no longer valid (due to brexit).

They now list just one product - Ace Cytomel. This is made by ACE in Netherlands and is NOT the same as Pfizer Cytomel. Different ingredients.

Malta used to be very strict - similar to the UK. But I cannot speak for how they are nowadays. Probably still strict.

The above is the only product listed (link below) which actually has a licence - other products are mentioned.

Check out Ace Cytomel under Netherlands in my medicines document:

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. It is sectioned by UK - rest of the world, and by T4, T3, desiccated thyroid, etc.

And do keep up to date. I edit it frequently- sometimes trivially, sometimes extensively. If your copy is more than a few weeks old, please download it again. (You must download - not just view in a browser- for the Table of Contents to work.)
