an interesting read . thanks . by the way in case you didn't know , the author Peter Warmingham is a (? Trustee , i think ) of ThyroidUK, and also is a member of this forum , but i can't remember what his user name is .

he was on here sometime within the last couple of yrs . i remember chatting to him . some of the stuff he's written that is/ was on ThyroidUK resources? page was really clear and useful . Not a medic ,think he was originally an engineer for Rolls Royce or something... probably explains why he was good at working things out properly . even if they are thyroids not engines.
