Single dose T3 and CT3M

I am currently on T3 only, taken twice a day. I want to try taking T3 in a single dose, as Dr. John Lowe recommended, and as some people on here seem to do well on. I would also like to eliminate the need for adrenal cortex supplementation.

Can Paul Robinson's Circadian T3 method for improving cortisol levels work if you just take a single daily T3 dose? Has anyone been able to stop taking adrenal cortex/hydrocortisone while on a single daily dose of T3-only?

Canu,

I can not talk from experience as am not on T3-only meds but agree that by taking T3 à la Paul Robinson the adrenals are supposedly given best chance of secreting highest amounts of cortisol at correct timings.

However, I would look only towards one change at a time because you will need good adrenal function to withstand the possible felt troughs & peaks of a single daily T3 dose.

If this were me I would keep the split dosing T3 and reduce the adrenal support first, and then if all ok I would experiment with single T3 doses.

Remember it's not the single dose of T3 but the timing of T3 meds that Paul Robinson says improves adrenal function.

I take T3 alone and am fit and well and energetic.

I feel my health is back to normal. and take my dose when I awake, with one glass of water and wait an hour before I eat. The rest of my day is 'normal' with no clinical symptoms.

Dr John Lowe was an Adviser to Thyroiduk before his death caused by a bad fall that caused a brain bleed.

Dr Lowe also took T3 - once daily in the middle of the night so that nothing interfered with its uptake.

He would prescribe NDTs (natural dessicated thyroid hormones - now removed from the NHS and this product saved lives from 1892 without the need of blood tests but doctors had the expertise to diagnose/treat patients due to their clinical symptoms alone.

You give me hope! Thank you! Did you use to have hypocortisolism? If yes, did cortisol get balanced when you took T3?

I was diagnosed as being hypothyroid the same day as GP phoned to tell me I had no problems - it appeared that he was unaware what a TSH of 100 indicated!

but I have now been diagnosed as having a condition called Polyglandular Autoimmune Disease No.3. as I have hypothyrodism, pernicious anaemia and alopecia areata.

Sorry to hear that Shaws! Glad you feel well, though! I want to try a one only T3 dose but I end up feeling hypo half way through the day and end up taking a second dose. I tried to slightly increase my 4:00 am dose, in the hope that I won't need a second dose in the afternoon, but I ended up overmedicated - sweating, high heart rate, etc. - but then still went hypo in the afternoon.
