I have had my t3 changed repeatedly through different brands by drs/supply issues/nhs, and as im so overly sensitive to it anyway, am now trying to switch BACK to t4 only which (I was ok on previously)as t3 has be like years on a rolleroaster for me.Im Hashi... gluten free.
I was on:
75mcg t4 daily with (extra 6 being recently added in, not yet settled as tsh up & down 0.4-5!)
t3 5mcg daily
=82-87mcg T4 & 5mcg T3.
CURRENT:
having converted the 5mcg to 20-25 mcg t4 needed,im assuming I need to be on about 107mcg t4 this (also fits my weight to dose ratio in the conversion charts)
I now I'm taking 100t4 split as 75am and 25 afternoon... with no food/other so absorption is constant.
I was assuming I'd need to keep building up to the 107mcg daily (ish)
ISSUE:
After about a month,my heart rate is still in the 80s-90s resting and goes up to 120+ when I do anything.Im exhausted! I feel heavy and and not able to do anything, but also the twitching fizzy pressure of overdose... &I have soft stools.
these symptoms are confusing me.I was expecting the tiredness & heaviness, but the fast heart/pressure and loose stools are usually when my meds are over, yet surely I still have a bit to raise?
last month tsh 5, t4 16... im just doing new bloods today too, but. ..
Any thoughts?... give it more time?wait? raise?... help -):

I can only go via my own experience which may not be right for you….
When I raise levo I get palps and they can last for around 6 weeks each time and I don’t really feel the benefit of the raise for 8 - 10 weeks.
I also get digestive issues for the first couple of weeks. It’s like I feel really over for a few weeks. Then the tummy settles but palps remain for longer. I also get heat especially at night. When I re introduced t3 a couple of months ago the heat seems to have subsided around week 8. Long may that last!!
I also feel I’m sensitive to t3.
When did you stop t3?
When did you raise t4?
Do you think it’s possible you are doing it all a bit quick?
Personally I did same. Dropped t3 and raised t4 but slowly over about 7 months or so. I also noticed that t3 is much easier to take when my t4 is higher is range. Around 60%. I have experimented with lots of doses and have just raised to 150mcg of levo whilst continuing with 10mcg of t3. This is more than I should need if you go by the weight/mcg or other peoples experience but that’s what I seem to be better on.
thanks so much for responding... thing is I wS only ever on max 5mch t3 so I halved it then quartered it... but its all so small anyway. but I am soooo tired!
I get your reasons etc etc. I understand your thinking but I would consider myself undermedicated. I would give it 8 weeks on any one particular dose. The heart rate thing for me is both under and over medicated. So is the heat. You have to find your bit in the middle that suits you but you have to give the medication time to settle back down.
Obviously I don’t know because you haven’t said but my guess is you’re actually doing it all too quickly and the dose of levo you were on possibly isn’t enough?
You do need to monitor your vitamins too. This just helps everything work properly.
I spent too long rushing it all only to have to back track and start again. It has taken me 18 months so far and it takes others longer. But I cannot stress enough that slowly is better as it isn’t that eureka moment for a lot of sufferers, it’s just that 8 weeks in they realise they do actually feel a little better than they did before.
tsh 2.96 (0.27-4.2)... bit low for met4 25.4 (12-22)- v high for me
t3 3.6 (3.1-6.8) - low for me
this is a month or so afyer dose changes but Im a fast changer generally. im thinking maybe I should go back down to that dose and up my selenium and give more time to let the t4 to t3 conversion develop?
